The primary objective of the formative research was to gain insight into the knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, practices, and behaviors of caregivers with children under three years old regarding complementary feeding, responsive caregiving, and the establishment of learning opportunities for early childhood development. Qualitative research methods employed included key-informant interviews at the government level, focus group discussions within communities involving both men and women, in-depth interviews with primary caregivers, and observations of caregiver-child interactions.
